Reason Number 457

Last night we were on our way to a birthday party for one of Jonathan’s friends when we passed two young girls on the side of the road with a flat tire. Even though we were running late, David turned around to see if they needed help.

We knew they were probably among the 700 or so teenagers David feels very fatherly toward. But even when they’re not, David always stops when someone needs help. I can’t even tell you how many times he has pushed a stalled car out of the middle of four lanes of traffic, provided a jump or use of his cell phone.

As it turned out, they didn’t have a jack—and they were interns. David changed the tire very quickly, and we made it to the party in just enough time to be fashionably late.

I love it that David always has time to lend a hand.

Dear Beth,

Your Husband is a true hero to Lacy and I as well. You would be amazed how much influence he has in my life. Just the other day I thought about how ok I was with driving a funky beat up car because I knew Dave was. And Lacy appreciate's it, because I don't mind her driving the nicer vehicle.

Awww...I want to marry a man like your husband - minus his tendancy to always prove me wrong...too bad there aren't any like him around here :(

Cool story! After being under Mr. Hasz for over a year now (first as an intern, now a GI), I've learned so much about leadership and Godly character simply from watching his example, besides all his incredible classes.

What a hero! We want to know reasons 1-456 too!! I have been a little behind in my blog reading and had fun catching up. That video is great! I remember when they did that. David looks SOOOO young, doesn't he?

To answer your question on my blog. Yes- I am finally updating my house to make it feel a little more like me:-) I loved my Texas house and the way I got to fix it up, so we decided to go ahead and redo some things in this house. I'll be so glad when it is all done!

And that is one of the many reasons he is who he is... why he is so admired and loved by us all. I also love the comment you made at Walmart the other day that he is the one filling the cart with sugar! Makes him human among all those superhuman traits!

and like loves like...YOU are amazing, too...and I am surehis list for you is quite possibly longer than yours for him!

Wow - I can't imagine CCF being that large! I would love to come back and revisit everyone. Not sure if the Forneys are still there - they were a pillar family during my year as an intern. Patty brought me to her house and I made cookies with her kids - Mal and Hannah. So fun. They lived beside the Ravenhills. Talk about an anointed neighborhood! haha

Thanks for your comments - I love your blog. Cole is my hero. :)

That's a great trait! Seems to me like David always has time not only to lend a hand, but also an ear!

Yeah, I think you two came to our rescue more then once. Dawn Bried & I were in an accident when we were GIs on 12/26, and absolutely no one was on campus. She called you and the next thing I new the entire Hasz clan was on the scene. Dave was pulling stuff out of my car and I believe his mother was directing traffic. I just remember being embarassed b/c I had a bag of clothes in the trunk that were going to good will. There was a bra in there that I hadn't ever worn... but it was hanging out of the bag and I was completely horrified that he may have seen it. I think that was more traumatic then the accident.
