Calling All Geeks!

Tis almost the season to be decking the halls. Instead I’m stuck in a computer induced pity party whining woe is me. Google HATES me! Every time I click in to Goggle-owned sites, my computer freeeeeezes up! And now many of my daily reads are switching to Blogger in Beta—owned by Google!!

This does not make my world merry. Can anyone help? Why is my computer allergic to Google? I’m getting weary of doing the force-quit thing.

Since Google is buying up everything related to revenue in the blogasphere (oh to own their stock), I really need to figure this out. According to the sidebar site meter there are over a hundred of you clicking in each day. Are any of you geek-enough to solve my little, frustrating, I want to throw my computer off the roof, issue?

My computer is a Mac OS X version 10.4 with a Safari browser and I’m using AOL dial-up. Though I’m guessing dial-up is the most likely culprit, I’m really hoping it’s not. Since we live in the middle of freaking nowhere, beautiful, quaint countryside, the only way we can get high-speed internet is to mortgage the farm . . . and we don’t actually own a farm.

So come on Geeks. Pleeeaaase click the comment button bringing glad tidings my way. Educate me in the finer details of blogging bliss and save my computer from demise!

I WISH I was geek enough for you, but alas, I leave the technical stuff to my hubby... I am sure there is someone out there, tho, that can help...

And I love all the cross-outs in your post... SO funny!! Having dialup myself, I understand that many frustrations!!

Try using the browser Firefox. Just search for it on yahoo or google to download and install it.

Don't worry its complete free.

You may have a better experience with Firefox than Safari.

ok so i work with a mac every day
& i agree firefox works so much better than safari
& because macs dont really get viruses im pretty sure your safe in that area.
also it may be a memory issue try deleting some old files or programs you dont use anymore
let me know if that helps!

I can't offer much help but you made me feel a bit better. I don't live in the good ole USA and I have high speed....well I use that phrase lightly.

I switched to Blogger Beta too....sorry!

I'm sure there is a simple solution! Don't know what it is... awww!!! I don't know mac at all. How about Michelle A.? She can be the new "it" person. I'm sorry you don't have high speed internet. Maybe you should move. Have you thought of that? hee

I wish I knew what to tell you. I had that problem with my MAC desktop. It was a lot older than yours though. I had to upgrade to the latest MAC software and I switched to firefox- that solved a lot of my problems with that computer. I think you are right though - dial up could be your main problem.

Karen, I'm surprised you didn't have an answer. You are so IT savvy :-)

hey, Beth, when you are pregnant and really sick, is there some remedy or prescription that you took? Christina Lowery's best friend is newly pregnant and suffering from 24 hour morning sickness, even throwing up in the middle of the night... any ideas?

According to this site: http://petro.tanreisoftware.com/?cat=4 Google seems to have a problem with the Safari browser. I'd definitely suggest FireFox, or if you don't like it, try Opera. Both are (in my humble opinion) excellent browsers.

If you need any help installing them, feel free to email or call me, and I'll be overjoyed to assist you.

My email address is botslayer(at)gmail(dot)com

My phone number is 7965.

Have a great day!

Hurray for foxfire, whatever that is. I'm so glad you won't be frozen forever!

I really did confuse the cat and the boots. Alicia wondered if that was true or something I just made up. Can you imagine? She doesn't come from her blonde roots from any stranger, haha

I may now be able to assist you in your problem, but I would like to know how you do the cross-through words on your blog!!! LOVE THAT!!

Hey there! I just got home from the hospitol today! I had the baby on monday! Everything went well...I ended up having to have a C-section, inducing went fine but I was in labor a while and twards the end my labor just wanst progressing enough. It was scary but I trusted the Lord when I heard the baby cry for the first time I cried so hard. It was one of the most lovely and powerful moments of my enire life. About a day after his birth they were doing some tests and things and it ended up that a nurse gave him an injection by mistake. The medicine she gave him was intended for a grown woman in labor as a sedative and for nausea. It was a rather high dose. They had to take him in an ambulance to another hospitol and place him in the hopsitols neaonatal intensive care untit. We have been there the past 4 days or so. It was so hard seeing him go through so much physically. the first day he was in there I wasnt even allowed to hold him... We took him home today and he is ALOT better. Please please be praying for us. We have all been through alot physically and emotionally this past week and really just need sleep and physical and emotional rest. One thing also is to please pray for us in regards to what decision need to be made with the hospitol that gave him the injection of the drug in the first place. I really want to be christ like in the way we handle things. Pray that the Lord would speak to us in our spirits and through the word and that we would have wisdom. And please pray for the baby to completely recover he has almost completely recovered ( and they said that there shouldnt be any long term side affects) but I want him to be all the way better! Thank you Mrs. Hasz. I know that this is a long comment but I really wanted to share this with you becasue I knew that you would really pray for us. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for being such an inspiration and role model as well! You are a blessing!!!

update your system and restart. I have had problems with certain sites - and often a software update is all you need. Go to your 'apple' and down to "software update".
