Talkin’ Smack!

Have you seen these “Hair Balls” in stores? They are great for toddlers—both easy to throw and easy to catch.

After Cole had been playing with his for awhile he threw it at Jonathan and yelled, “Think fast, Jay!”

The ball landed nearly two feet short of Jay—impossible to catch. But that didn’t stop Cole from placing the blame elsewhere. He yelled out, “Bad catch Jay!”

I bet Jonathon loved that! That is hilarious! My kids love those crazy balls too, for some reason they kind of gross me out, I don't know why. :)

That was so funny! Children are so gifted at shifting blame, aren't they? Is Jonathan's nickname Jay? The nickname for our Jonathan is Jo-Jo; I think that's how David said his name at first.

Yes. We used to always call him Jay Jay because Jonathan seemed like such a long name for such a little kid. (At age 8 he is still the size of most 5 year olds). We now sometimes call him Jay Jay, Jay or Jonathan.

What are those balls called? Are they really called "Hair Balls"? Alex would love something like that.

That photo, by the way, is simply adorable.

I think they're called hairballs because strands of hair are constantly getting caught in the ball. They are cool but kind of gross too.

I just can't believe how big he is getting! What a cutie!

I was relieved to read the other comments about how the ball grosses some people out. I thought I was the only one. Those things and the gummy toys that stick to a wall and "walk" down really cause me to be germaphobic. These toys mysteriously "disapear" in my home while children are sleeping :-)

Okay, that's a new toy to me...kinda weird. Another classic Cole moment and one of his best I must say. I laughed out loud! What a hoot!

Cole is so funny! Those balls really are very cool! I looked at them at Walmart yesterday, but I just couldn't convince myself that it was worth the price--even though I know it is! :)

I wonder if that is what my little red headed Andrew will look like some day. Very cute.

Here's a brother-to-brother story from the cobwebbed catacombs of my past.

I have two older brothers who have always been much larger than I. They were jock football players. I was the runt, creative type of the family. One afternoon my brothers decided to include me in their football game in the backyard. Half way into the first play they decided to begin using me as the football tossing me back and forth to one another. After a couple throws one of my brothers missed and didn't catch me. I landed on a big rock in the yard and suffered a concusion. I remember my mother chasing both brothers with a broom down the driveway. She did wack them a couple times pretty hard. What a family.
