Smart, Cute . . . And Color-blind!

Last night Jon and Kelly came over with their daughter Jordan.

While the four of us played cards, Jordan and Ashley were drawing pictures. Ashley asked, “Hey Jordan, what color is your pencil?” Jordan called out, “Pink!”

Totally shocked I asked Kelly, “She knows her colors?” Kelly replied, “Oh sure. Hey Jordan, what color is Auntie Beth’s hair?” Jordan called out, “Pink!”

As it turns out, everything in Jordan's world is "Pink!"

Beth, should you decide to pierce your nose to go along with your pink hair just let me know. I've done all the research on it. Somehow I don't think it fits your profile though...

Beth, on an entirely different subject, I just ran across your comment on Mitch's blog about your college days. It made me sit here and just blaw. I guess I have had this idea that kids everywhere come from homes where their parents are able to pay for their tuition, living expenses, etc.. Alicia worked very hard to be able to be at TM. She gave up much her senior year of high school save all the money for her first year at TM. She lived on $12 a week while there. She would never let us know how broke she really was. We are not a family of money by any means, blessed - YES, money, we have enough. We had no idea how she would make it her second year and God came through because of "special people" in her life that help along with what we could do for her. We knew God wanted her there and HE made it all happen. So often I wish we could do more to make mission trips happen, college, etc.., but we trust in HIM alone to provide all of our needs. I guess that's how faith works, isn't it. Thanks for reminding me that the whole world does not live life off a silver platter. I am thankful for the life we have and the blessing of a very wonderful family. I sure needed to read your comment.

Funny! Jon tried to pull that on me on Saturday at the groundbreaking... at least he told me that she calls them all pink... I was starting to feel like I wasn't working with Ethan enough...

Thanks so much for a great weekend... we do miss you guys-- I wish we would have had time for a card game. Our kids were sad to leave too.

Can you fix Nicole's blog so that non blogger people can leave comments?

Lily's world is shades of pink, too :-)

Beth, sorry for another comment, but I just read David's update on his post. I just wanted you to know that it is heavy on my heart to pray for you as a mom of four. I remember well the days of my husband working two jobs and being gone alot, nothing I'm sure to your husband. My heart also goes out to the mom's of new interns. I hated Alicia's first year at TM. I cried that whole year and hated everything that she was put through. I now understand it all, but at the time I was clueless. Just wanted you to know that you are loved and being lifted up.
