When we moved to Texas ten years ago, we never dreamed we would ever be able to live near either of our families. We came to this little neck of the woods out of obedience to God. To our complete amazement, David’s entire family has moved here from all over the country—and so has mine! We couldn’t have asked for a bigger blessing from God!
My kids are so excited. Today they are going to “Grandkids Camp” at my in-laws. They live on a really cool lake and have been making their home an irresistible magnet to all of us who are related. There is a lot planned: Fishing, hiking, sleeping in tents, learning life lessons . . . pretty much every camp activity one might think of!
I think it’s great David’s parents go to such extraordinary lengths to be a blessing to their grandkids and to pour into their lives. Ashley and Jonathan (and six of their cousins) are going to have a blast!

awww, Ash is so pretty with her fake glasses :) my question is...where will Cole be and what will he be doing to keep himself busy?
You guys are SOOOO blessed to have all your family there!
I had wonderful grandparents growing up. It's such a blessing. My kids have been very blessed with my parents. We hope someday to be a blessing to grandkids of our own. Dave and I kidded yesterday that we hope we don't have to do grandkids camp over the speaker phone.
They are going to have such a fun time! Is Cole sad that he can't go, or is he excited to have Mom all to himself?
Ok, I'm just freaking out about the "moving to Texas 10 years ago" part! OH MY GOSH! That seems like a lifetime ago, and at the same time I remember the move like it was yesterday. Wow.
she's still wearing the glasses!?! I really thought she would give them up by now...
One of the good things about moving north is that we will be closer to all the family, and can do more with them... having grandkids so far away from their grandparents and aunts/uncles is hard!
Love you!
THanks so much for allowing us to have your kids for camp. We loved it.
