A million times a day God gives reminders my life is rich beyond the counting. If such moments are ignored because life is too busy or frazzled, I am the poorer for it. Life calls for reflection.

A Little Time Off
We’re just finishing up a week of vacation. Most moms know, family vacations aren’t really a vacation for mom.
I won the discussion and we ended up staying here. With a baby it’s just easier to stay near home. We have been visiting local fun spots like the lake, the zoo, and Splash Kingdom.
Next month we’ll take another week of vacation and visit my parents, friends and extended relatives in Indiana.
We’re hoping to visit the fun places I grew up with: King’s Island, Ft. Wayne Children’s Zoo, and Conner's Prairie.
It’s always great visiting my parents because our days go something like this:
My Mom: Sleep in—let me get the baby.
My Mom: Let me make you all breakfast—what would you like?
My Mom: I’ll clean up here—you all go out and have fun!
My Mom: Let me watch the kids tonight. Why don’t you go to the movies.
You get the picture—not just a family vacation, but also a vacation for me!

Oh I love that! My mom comes to visit (or we go there) and she does the same thing...grandparents are wonderful things..
By the way, Kings Island isn't too far from us. Have you guys visited Cedar Point? My parent's live near there...and the coasters are sooo much better than Kings Island :)
my mom is the same way...i know that it's because they remember so vividly the energy and emotion that is required to be a full time mom...and they just want to be a source of strength for us!
i love the tubing pictures...but where are you?
It's so wonderful to support systems like moms. Mine is coming to visit later this month, and I just can't wait. She'll be staying only a couple of weeks, but boy do I have some stuff planned for us -- and yes, for me too.
The tubing was at Splash Kingdom—a new waterpark near our home. (Canton, Texas) The Kingdom part stands for the Kingdom of God. It's Christian with lots of Bible verses everywhere—tasteful and not over the top.
There's nothing like having mom around. I still love it at my age even with my kids grown. My mom is such a servant.
You are going to be in the state right below us...I can't stand it!
I can't believe how much Nicholas has grown. He seems to very much enjoy his older brother. Have a great vacation next month.
I keep coming back to see the pictures, but they won't show up for me! It sounds like you had a fun time though!
Next month's vacation sounds ideal--great family fun and built in babysitters! :)
How about a vacation to COLORADO? I miss you!
Your children are really growing up. What a great little (well, not so little anymore) family you have.
